Starting Freshman year in the Spring?

Hello,

I am a gap year/freshman applicant. In the case that I am accepted to one of my top choices on either Early Action or Early Decision plans, is it possible to go to the university early (during the spring) to get a head start on campus? Although I have some stuff planned for spring 2015, I would much rather get a head start on classes than mess around for a semester. I realize that there is a tight gap between the the early action/decision notification date and the start of spring semester. Could I enroll as a non-degree seeking student and just transfer the classes over when I actually start?

Not usually. It would be better to look now for colleges that have spring admissions and apply. Most don’t admit in spring. If they do they will take your application now. Otherwise they are likely already booked for spring from the previous year’s batch of applicants. Contact admissions with any question.
