I'm interning at the mayor's office here in the Philippines. It is my first time as an intern and most likely they will just use me as a general assistant. However, I want to make a good impression and would gladly have any advice on how to behave on the job.

People know that interns are there just to get a little experience. They really can’t devote tons of high-responsibility projects to you b/c they can’t devote the time to really train you profoundly. Be friendly, enthusiastic – but also respect the workers’ boundaries and the reality that they can’t train you to any huge degree. Enjoy your summer and congrats on getting the position.
