starting junior year

Hello,

This fall I will be beginning my junior year. I am beginning a broad search for colleges I might be interested in. Let me tell you about myself.

Born and raised in CT

I go to an all boys boarding school in New England

3.4 GPA

Play hockey and lacrosse

Dorm monitor

very weak EC's, member of fly fishing and ultimate frisbee clubs

no SAT's or ACT's

80th percentile PSAT's.

POSSIBLE COLLEGES:

Want to be in MA, VT, NH, ME, PA, or upstate New York

Do not want to be in the city

COLLEGES I HAD IN MIND:

St. Lawrence

Bowdoin

Colby

Umass Amherst

Penn State (College Park)

UNH

UVM

Syracuse

Gettysburg

Bucknell

Skidmore

Williams (stretch)

Do I have a shot at any of these on my current path? Or do I need to majorly step it up junior year?

Thanks.

nothing???

I would chance you, but I just don’t think you have much useful information…I think you should get involved with more EC activities and try to raise your GPA a little more. Also, you should think about taking the SAT soon. I think, from the information you’ve given, you could probably get into all of the schools you mentioned, with the exception of Williams.

Have you taken any AP classes? What is the specific breakdown of your PSAT score?
