Starting my apps with too many schools to pick from...

Feh, here are more schools that I've thought up. I really, really need to shorten my list.

Public school senior
Caucasian Female
3.81 UW GPA/ 4.1 W
1st Decile (class of 586)
State: PA

SAT
CR - 650
M - 630
W - 670 (10 on essay)
Retaking in October and taking the ACT also in October.

SAT II
German - 570 (taking two more in November)

AP Stat: 3

Courseload: Here's where I'm in trouble most of all. I definitely didn't take the hardest courses offered 9th-11th. I tried kicking it up a notch senior year.

Senior Schedule
AP Bio
AP Microecon
AP Macroecon
APUSH
AP German
Honors Humanities
Latin I
Regular Calculus

Scheduling Conflict - My senior year schedule was messed up. I was put in Latin instead of Physics, and it couldn't be fixed. My guidance counselor is noting that this wasn't my fault in her recommendation.

EC's
-National Honor Society
-won second place at the German Fallfest Competition at Millersville University
-scored in the 85 percentile on the AATG German exam
-working as a cashier at a supermarket for a year
- treasurer of Student Historians Club for two years
-worked with special needs kids and helped them do crafts/helped organize activities for them to do (during school for the past two years)
-"Walking Tour" I'm a tour guide for the elementary school kids (this year'll be my third). I take them to different historically significant landmarks in our town and explain why they're important.
-member of the Civil War Heritage Foundation (Civil War Reenacting organization)

Major: Undeclared

Schools of Primary Interest:
New York University
University of Maryland
George Washington University
University of Delaware (Honors College?)
University of Southern California
Emory University
Millersville University
University of Chicago

Schools That Have Crossed My Mind:
Franklin and Marshall
Fordham University
Penn State - Harrisburg
University of Georgia
Georgia State
University of San Diego
University of San Francisco
University of Rochester
Gettysburg College

Any suggestions for what to keep, what to ax, what to add (hopefully not)? That's a ridiculous amount of schools, and I have to make decisions NOW. I'd like maybe three reaches, four or five matches, and two safeties to keep. Thanks

Oh, and Boston University. I forgot about that one.

Though your GPA is very good, your test scores won't impress Chicago, and it doesn't have the same flavor as others on your list. I'd remove it unless you have a passion for this school. What is your state university?
Geographics might help you narrow the list. You have a mix of hot and cold, urban and rural.

I'd prefer not to be in-state, but Penn State's the university. Bleh. I like places all over. New York, Maryland, California, Georgia. Penn State - Harrisburg would be a safety, as would Millersville.

Yeah, I just think that Chicago is a really nice school, though, I don't plan on even applying unless my SAT's get into the 2100's.

I'd rather have urban, but there are some suburban and rural schools that I do like.

You should definitely visit Fordham's Rose Hill campus--I was torn between choosing an urban or rural college, and Fordham's gorgeous green campus in New York City made gives its students the best of both worlds. A few names on your list were on mine as well when I was deciding on where I wanted to go, and I ended up making the best decision I could have by coming to Fordham. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have about Fordham, or why I chose it!
