Starting my college search.

Hey buddies. I am just starting to make a list of colleges I want to apply to and I want some help. Here's my info:

Male Hispanic Junior. My family moved from Peru to Texas when I was 12. I had a small English background.

SAT: 2040 (660 M, 660 CR, 720 W). Definitely retaking it (in October) and going for a 2100+

GPA/Rank: My school has a weird weighted 6.0 scale, in which I have a 4.9, but in the traditional 4.0 scale I have around a 3.75. I am 45/585 (7.6%) and have a huge upward trend. After Freshman year I wasn't even in the top 10%.

Course selection: I have taken the most rigorous schedule I could except for required classes (like Art I) and classes I had to take to fill in spots. All of my core classes and 2-3 electives have been honors/APs and will be next year, too.

AP Scores: I've only taken the WHAP exam and I got a 5. Taking 4 this year.

ECs: Not that much. I'll be in Debate for all 4 years with some local trophies here and there. Been in Spanish Club/National Spanish Honor Society for 2 years, and I've helped my mum tutor little kids this year.

Now that that's over, let's talk about my colleges. I want to major in Computer Science. I really really really enjoy a big city, urban environment. Cities like New York, Seattle, Chicago, and Austin attract me. I can get in UT Austin automatically, but I'd like to see if I have a chance somewhere else. I was looking into Fordham, U of Washington Seattle, Boston University, and a few others.

Basically I am looking for urban colleges that are good and I can get into. I also need really good FA, I am pretty poor.

Thanks.

Check out BC and DePaul…

Also Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh) and Drexel (Philly). Best of luck!
