I am about to be a senior and will be applying to pretty good colleges. I have extra curriculars as it is, and will continue those, but if I start a few right now, will this appear negatively to a college admissions officer?
What are your opinions on starting these new ones late?

If you're starting a new EC to look good on your college apps, don't bother. If you're starting a new EC because it's something that you want to do, then go ahead. There's more to life than your college applications.

No, I don't think it will be seen in a negative light at all. Many students start jobs in their senior year and become involved with groups that pertain to their developing interests. If the activities you're taking on are something you enjoy or want to do for their own sake, it will seem natural and positive.
