Starting over, please help?

I don't know if I'm putting this in the right forum, but my ultimate goal is to transfer so I guess I'll give it a go...

I'm not going to lie, I've been a really poor student. I never saw school as a priority, and now I'm paying for that. I'm not looking for an easy way out because I know there isn't one at this point, but I'm just trying to find the best way to get myself back on track and better myself. I'm a sophomore at a community college right now, and I think my gpa is somewhere around a 2.3... Yes I know how horrible that is. I didn't start off my classes this semester very well either, but I'm trying my hardest to get caught up and end well.

I guess I'm just asking for any words of advice... Please. I know people go back to college when they're 50, or after they've gotten out of jail, or dropped out of high school... So I can't have completely screwed myself over already, have I?

I'm going tomorrow morning to talk to an advisor at my school, but I'm just hoping to find some encouragement or words of wisdom on here. Is it possible for me to turn things around?...

Yes, absolutely. There are many colleges that look at GPA trend, growing life experience/maturity when accepting transfer students. You need to work on taking a course load that you can handle and get good grades, even if that means taking ONE class at a time to start. You are better off going slow and getting good grades rather than overloading and blowing semester after semester.

Figure out where your GPA can land and then start looking at colleges that your profile would be a likely admit. But first things first–buckle down and get some good grades first!
