What do you want to hear? You were rejected for any number of reasons, as were the other 86% of rejected kids. Taking a gap year isn’t going to mean you will be accepted. You can’t apply to all Ivy Leagues for ED or EA, because they are all restrictive. You can only apply to one early. If you take a gap year, you need to do something substantial to increase your chances. Just retaking the SAT to get a higher score or writing new essays won’t do the trick.
You need to move on. Get excited about where you were accepted, and make a choice. Reapplying to the Ivy schools next year will probably mean that you will have gone to a lot of effort for no reward.
Literally 9 out of every 10 kids is rejected from the Ivies in the RD pool, if not more. Where did you get in? Please don’t tell us you ONLY applied to the Ivies…
I had an internship with coke during the summer and i retook the SAT in may and had a total 1570 this time and i sent my application to princeton. hope to get in
Obviously you can’t apply to all of them ED. Odds are good you are just going to burn a second year without better results.
