whats the starting salary for stern undergrads usually?

around $50,000 i heard

52,000- excluding the bonus

I'm pretty sure those are both correct estimates. I remember reading an NYU webpage that had the starting salaries for each school but I don't know where that webpage is.

here is the answer:
http://www.nyu.edu/careerdevelopment/survey/2005/fulltime.php

also check:

How much bonus would one expect?

Also what kind of rate does that salary usually grow at in fincancial positions?

LIke say after 5 years? 10 years?

It all depends on how much you work - most financial firms evaluate strictly on performance, so technically you could get 100% bonus if not more. I think you should probably take a look at vault.com's finance industry pages - they're pretty helpful and have a good overview of what to expect from finance/accounting/consulting, etc

what about for someone who majors in economics w/ pre-biz in CAS? whats their starting salary?

killrockstars - All the info you are requesting can be found at those links posted above. It appears that economics is one of the highest paying salaries for a starting NYU graduate.

2pacalypse=you would make about half to match your salary for bonus your first year, so around $30k to $60k if you're in banking/trading.

80-110k? Thats not too shabby. Do u find that doing a lot of internships help out in your starting year in terms of salary?

80-110 starting is very good and i believe theres a lot of opportunity for growth.

Do you guys think that CAS economics major with minor in pre-business would lead one down the same type of path as Stern Economics or Finance?

Like the same job opportunities and pay?

Also what are some jobs people get after graduation? Ive heard alot about investment banking but what else is out there?

Yeah. Basically CAS Econ and Stern Econ/Finance do the same stuff.

Yes.

Brokerage, Trading, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Corporate Finance (at a company, not ibank), Financial/Management consulting, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, etc. NYU Stern is the back door to Wall St. Wharton's the front door. :D

So im in CAS would you guys still reccommend trying to internally transfer to Stern or just major in ECON and minor in Pre-Business?

Internal transfers to Stern don't work.

I thought it was just difficult not impossible?
