Starting senior year in a few months and I'm lost :/....

I just wrapped up what I think was a pretty solid junior year, so of course in my summer before my senior year college is on my mind, and I have absolutely no idea where to apply, what type of school I'm looking at, etc...

-Im in NY and I have a VA parent so instate for both, which is important because we aren't well of financially and with my twin also needed to go to school, money is tight...

-My GPA Unweighted is 3.6/4.0

-When my senior year ends I will have taken 6 AP's, a bunch of honors classes

-Something I'm really disappointed about, 1820 superstore on two SAT's I took, I only scored ten points higher when I re-took it

-Not a lot going for EC's, Pres. of one club, member of a few including National Honor Society

-I really have no preference in terms of size, atmosphere, etc

-I kind of think I may want to major in business but thats iffy

Again I am so lost with this, some days I'm happy with my chances for good schools and other days I just look at my stats and want to bury my face. I know it seems shallow but I do want to go to a school with a good reputation. Please help me figure out where I'm supposed to look

Your GPA is good, your SAT’s are low as you know though and you also lack leadership and community service. Any top 50 school is very unlikely, though with strong essays you should be able to get into almost any public university. Personally I cannot recommend, you have to have some preference (if you truly don’t you need to go on some college tours) for people to give advice. There are too many schools that would except you (it is not like you have a 300 on the SAT’s and 1.2 GPA) and financial aid can be predicted but you should like the school as well.

Can you answer the following things about what you want
Liberal Arts (yes or no)?
How big of a school?
Public or private?
General location (what states are you looking at)?

Look into JMU, in Virginia. It isn’t a shining top 50 gem or anything, but it is so beautiful, has great school spirit, and has a nice student body.

In regards to the community service as mentioned above, I forgot to include that I have over 400 hours. And thats very strange that you would mention JMU considering that is a school I have considered…

Look at SUNYs.

Well of course I’m going to look at SUNYs that much I do know, but at this point there are only two I would consider, and one if I consider other people who already attend that school…
