I'm entering ninth grade next year at a different school. I've played field hockey for my current middle school on the higher level for three years, but the high school I'm attending next year doesn't have hockey.Field hockey is something I LOVE, and I don't want to give it up. Lately, I've been really focused on how to prepare myself to get into college, and I was wondering if starting a new field hockey team for my high school would be something colleges appreciate. I'm interested in top tier universities, and would it show them my dedication and leadership?
My plan is to start a club and then to raise funding to get a team going, and I've spoken to the principal and she said it was a good idea.
In a nutshell, is starting a field hockey team something I should look into?

Yes, starting a club/team THAT ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING (aka, not insert tv show here club) is always good.

But please don’t do it if you just want to do it for college. Imagine extra curriculars have absolutely no affect on college admission…will you start it then?

Thanks!
Yes, I know that I would want to start this even if it didn’t help me with college. I love hockey and definitely don’t want to stop playing. I just don’t know how to go about starting a team.
