So Ive been doing practice test for a month now without time limit, then decided its time to start timing myself since i only got a little more then a month till the October sat.
Before i started doing practice tests my score for math was 490, then i practiced for a month and raised it to 600-640 (without time limit). And today i did math test timed and got a 530 :(. I know i could answer the hard problems but it really takes me a while. Any tips? my goal for the october sat is to get more then 600 in math.

Hi amigos,

I read from a website that for most questions on SAT math, there are always quick ways to solve the problem. The website uses 3-D animated videos to show how to solve those problem in 30 seconds or less. It really opens up my mind in doing Sat problems. The site is FTL Math, which is at:

[Faster-Than-Light Math! for SAT Math](http://www.FTLmath.com)

I used some of their methods to do the problems, it really works.

I checked it out…the shorter versions just made it seem more complicated. Although it does work, there is only 3 videos…Thanks though

I had the same problem at first. Went from 650ish down to 550ish with time. Realized that with time I was getting easier ones wrong (b/c I was rushing) and still took too long for harder questions.

The thing that helped me most was a book my friend found, 5 SAT math practice tests. It forced me to do harder math in the same time as the real SAT. After the second test, I already improved a lot. After I finished the book, my score on the real test went up to 750. Hope this helps.

@ truthdude. Yeah it does! and checked out the book online…looks pretty legit, seems like you get a lotta bang for your buck. dam i just bought the bb though…man prep for sat isn’t cheap foreals. well…for me thanks again :)

oh and btw how long did it take for you to finish it? and grammer books like that?

Amigos,

What are “the shorter versions”, the videos about the traditional way to do the problem without login w your Facebook account or the 30 second problem videos?

I believe that you watched videos (four 30 second problem videos, the Jets problem does not need to login to watch) too fast from the time you posted, you watched them in less than 20 minutes. I would pause often to think about the ways to do it before I continue, then compare my solution with the videos.
