;( this sucks! CB should show all test scores, it's such a sell-out. I mean, the whole SAT score report will just be a farce from now on. Maybe they should put in a disclaimer for every student who has chosen to choose which scores they want to show: "this student has opted to show only 1 test score out of 123492834 scores"

Has the collegeboard confirmed this?

Class of '09, WOOT!

Glad I'm class of '10

It's nice to know I won't be having to compete against people who can exploit the stupidity of College Board to create a false image of their intellectual abilities.

not fair at all

it's not like people don't do that now....

For all the complainers, shut the hell up for pete's sake. Consider those people who feel ruined after having a bad beginning. If you feel that the competition is gonna be harder, why dont you send all your scores in and write a little note on the side -_-. Collegeboard doesnt stupidly make spontaneous decisions. It has its reasons. It wants to help kids out. It wants to attract more kids by this helping out.

glad im an '09. i'm not too interested in seeing people in my class rushing around to take the SAT as many times as possible.

It wants to attract more kids so it stays ahead of the ACT, not out of the kindness of its heart. As for those ruined after having a bad beginning, isn't that what taking the test a second time is for? If they really sucked that much the first time, it seems they won't want to use any section scores from the first section.

To be honest, though, I find the whole notion of super-scoring stupid. All it does is encourage laziness when taking the test a second time on section you have already aced (eg. someone at 650, 800, 600 retaking.) If you are retaking the test, you should prove that your 800 math score was not a fluke, rather than being able to doze off during it with impunity.

i like this.. but this probably means increased competitively because now you can retake like ten times and get an awesome score and just submit your best compared to that person who got a 2400 the first time around. now he/she won't be seen differently in the college admissions process anymore..

plus more money for collegeboard...ugh.

For those who don't believe the news, the link below is to the Collegeboard website with the news. Directly from the horse's mouth.

In the end it's just another grand scheme for College Board to make more money.

I dedicate this post to my mommie and daddie. thank you.

yup. this is legit. YEAHYEAHYEAH!

Good work mom and dad. Go Class of '10!

-Students will be instructed to follow the different score-reporting requirements of each college to which they apply.

so does this mean that some of the elite schools (HYP) can still make you send all your SAT scores in?

^^^ thats the best part!
the collegeboard is giving students this new "option" BUT for those students who aspire to b in the ivy league may still b screwed.
think about it... if u were on the board of admissions, at say, Yale University...and u noticed that more and more students are sending one or two high scores as opposed to the usual 2-3 varying scores. this new policy keeps the universities from seeing our improvement.

is there a way to send all of ur scores...and let ur college kno that ur not concealing any embarrassments from them?...this will promote candor and give the student a more scrupulous disposition

Yay For Mom And Dad!
