STAT251 prereq question

So I want to enroll in STAT251 and on PASS it says that the prerequisites are “Completion of ELM requirement and passing score on MAPE are prerequisites.” However, on the course catalog it says, "Completion of the ELM requirement and a passing score on appropriate Mathematics Placement Examination for MATH 221 eligibility, or MATH 118 or equivalent. "

I have already fulfilled the ELM requirement, but the Math Placement exam part is confusing me. I have already taken and passed (with a B) a MATH 118 course at a community college, and have had the credits transferred to Cal Poly. Does this make me eligible to take Stat251? or do I still have to take the placement exam?

Did you have a chance to talk to your advisor yet?

I was thinking if you check your Poly Profile on the Registration tab and see that the Math 118 transferred over and the MAPE milestone shows eligible for Math 221, you are good to go. The first page of the poly profile seems to indicate MAPE milestone and level even if you didn’t take the MAPE.

Thanks!

I just checked the MAPE milestones, and it says that I am eligible for MATH221! I totally overlooked that part on the polyprofile. Thanks a bunch!
