State College?

Is anyone going to choose a state college? They offered a scholarship and it would be cheaper?

Yup, Colorado State. Not the most prestigious, but it’s inexpensive and at least half the class goes there since it’s in town. I might transfer to a more selective school for next year, but I’ve heard good things about Colo State as it is.

yeah, UConn. Got into very good schools, but all of them turned me off with bad financial aid, so i accepted the state school option. looking forward to making the best of it this fall. :]

Sonoma State! ^_^

State schools can be very good if you go to the right one. Go where YOU want to go, not where society tells you you want to go.

Louisiana State and I’m from Illinois. I’ve never been treated so well in my entire life, got an unbelievable scholarship package, and the Honors College seems more than challenging enough.

I feel so much better about myself than if I decided to go somewhere that was doing me a favor by admitting me.

Good choice, great choice!

It’s not a state school…but I think I’ll go the University of Dallas for two years. I got into much more selective schools but can’t afford to go. =/ I’ll save money this way.

I’m actually turning down UIUC for UCF because the aid Illinois offered me was nothing but loans. I continue to get mail from them telling me to come because I got their honors designation, would get to choose courses early and blah blah blah. Though I may have chosen it instead, their financial aid made it a no-go. I also applied to U-Miami where they gave me a scholarship, and made it a whole $12,000 cheaper than UIUC, and Miami is private! It’s just that Miami is too close to home, and I was rejected from UF, so it looks like I’ll go to UCF.

I am! Uwisc-Madison. so much cheaper than my other colleges, and it turned out it offered everything I will need in college. I’m super excited.

Pitt-it may be less “prestigious” than my other acceptances, but it gave me the most money :)

Penn State

I’m not, but my class’s valedictorian is - University of Vermont over Cornell, for animal science.

I made this choice last year and currently go to Ohio State. It has worked out amazingly! Even if you’re disappointed, make the best of it and I bet you’ll be surprised :)
