I am on the Math Team and our school has won the state math competition almost every other year and this year we have a huge chance of winning. The thing is that because of the number of people on the team I will probably not go to the actual competition. If we win, do you think that it would be lying if I say on college apps that I was on the state championship team even if I was not able to go, because I am part of the team?

What contest is this?

I'm interested to know too abt what exactly u r talkin' abt!

our state math competition is april 20th!!! but i don't consider it lying. YOu were part of the club therefore you should get the same amount of credit

BS. That would be lying. What's wrong with you people? How could you claim credit for something that you haven't even done? If you haven't been picked for the math state team, than you were obviously not qualified over the people that did make it. Think about it carefully. You have not contributed in any way to that win(or assumed win)... YOU know the truth.

Oh, and what if the colleges double check. State wins and things like that can be checked in a minute on google. What will they think if they don't see your name on the list? Think about it, the danger and your personal integrity is not worth risking.
