State University of NY- Stony or Bing?

Hey guys, I've been accepted to these state schols..still waiting for the privates..I want to major in science and go into medicine

I know Stonybrook is good for the sciences but Bing is good overall. Considering everything from location, social life, education,dorms- Stony or Bing? which is a better choice?

P.S. I got a half scholarship to Stony and its a lot closer to me. (an hour away by car)

I would say Stonybrook, because Binghamton is in the middle of nowhere so they say.

It depends if you want to go farther away from ur home or closer. I would say that you would go to stony brook since you have the half scholarship.

Stony Brook is a commuter school so you would have no social life. However, Stony Brook is better in the sciences and has a hospital on campus.

It depends if youre willing to have no social life in order to have a better major.

I'm sure there's a social life at every college. There's lots of ppl dorming at Stony. Thanks for the replies guys. More are welcome..=)

Overall, Binghamton is better. But it all depends on what you're majoring in.

Stonybrook is good for science.

Stonybrook is well known for its sciences i know lots of people who went to there/or goes to IT for sciences i live about a little under a hour away from it..but according to my sister its a bad school social wise(she knows people who went to it)

In terms of admission, Bing is more competitive than Stony. Many smart, well-rounded students go to Bing for the pre-med track. It's more prestigious than Stony.

Stony is known for their sciences but it's university "where everyone gets accepted to." If you're a female, there's the WISE program (women in science and engineering). There's also the medical scholars program in Stony but I heard it's extremely selective.

I think the best way to decide is to go visit both of the campuses yourself.
