Statewide eligibility counts for nothing?

So I got a letter in the mail about how I am not qualified for ELC but am on my way to having “Statewide Eligibility”

I am only interested in UCLA because I want to do nursing, but I decided I’ll apply to UC-Berkley and UCSD just in case I change my mind.

So does this statewide eligibility count for nothing really…at least in my case?

I know there is a published acceptance rate for ELC people…a much higher acceptance rate. Does “Statewide eligibility” give me an advantage at all besides guaranteeing me to one of the UC campuses?

yes, it counts for nothing since by definition, nearly every instate UC applicant is "Statewide eligible". The vast majority of applicants who aren't Statewide Eligibile, are OOS apps, athletic recruits and homeschoolers (who become eligible by high test scores on all five tests).
