Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics

How difficult are these classes? If you've taken them, please rank them from least to most difficult. Every CE/ME I've talked to hates them.

Who was the famous physicist who said he was looking forward to meeting God so that he could ask Him how fluid mechanics really worked?

Depends on the professor.

Dynamics > Fluids > Thermo > Statics.

At my school that's generally how people view them.

For me it was...

dynamics>thermo>fluids>statics

In depends a lot on your major--I know ChemE Thermo is a little bit different from MechE Thermo.

For me

Fluids > Thermo > dynamics > statics

The OP asked for the least to most difficult. Does the > sign mean more difficult or less difficult? (sorry to be stupid, but I'm not a logical engineering type!)

Greater than, meaning harder.

Agreed with Payne.

Dynamics > Fluids > Thermo > Statics

Watch out for dynamics, it's a tough one.

Fluids > Thermo > Dynamics > Statics

Pfff. I had that class, super easy.

In terms of my actual class (professor), not subject material
Thermo>Dynamics>Fluids>Statics

In terms of course material
Fluids>Dynamics>Statics>Thermo

I personally thought Solids was the worst of all--just didn't get it. Structures this semester being a continuation of it isn't all that great...

Any specific questions about the classes? They are all do-able, and at my school if you put in a lot of work and got help when you needed it, they are all passable. The ones I know that didn't pass had unfair profs (half the class failed) or didn't put effort towards it. I didn't get As in any of those, but only 1 C.

Since I'm not a ME, I can only comment on the ones I've taken. So Thermo > Statics.

I'd say Fluids > Thermo > Dynamics > Statics. That's from hardest to easiest.
