Statistics 2010

Hey all! Who else is taking the AP Stat exam in two/three days? ^^

I am. I know this stuff inside and out. My main worry is that I will make a dumb mistake and score less than the 4 I so desperately need.

I know my stuff, I just keep making stupid mistakes. I know what my weak spots are, so I’ll focus on studying on that Monday night. I should at least get a 4 (which I also need).

haha I’m still studying this stuff >.<

Any advice on how to review for this thing?

The thing I’m most worried about is TIME! Especially on the FRQ, only 12 minutes each… D:

@MrWheezy: [Here](<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/701522-massive-apush-ap-statistics-cram-packet.html?highlight=stat]Here[/url]'s">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/701522-massive-apush-ap-statistics-cram-packet.html?highlight=stat)'s</a> a thread where someone posted a study guide, if that helps!

I’m not worried at all. I know pretty much all of it, and the curve is ridiculously easy.

If I don’t get a 5, it’ll be because: (1) my handwriting is terrible, or (2) my teacher was a newb and didn’t cover everything (his first year).

Yeah, to review I’m using these 2 links which our teacher gave us…it reviews all the units, and has hypothesis testing/confidence interval formulas:

[AP Statistics Cram Sheet](http://www.docstoc.com/docs/36922314/AP-Statistics-Cram-Sheet)
[AP Statistics Inference Procedures](http://www.docstoc.com/docs/36836754/AP-Statistics-Inference-Procedures)

i hate memorizing all the inference procedures; so annoying >.<

I’m taking it too. I just need to make sure I’m solid on all the inference stuff.

Yeah, they’re annoying, but I feel like I know the inference procedures the best because they’re basically what we’ve been going over for like the past 3 months… XD

Yeah, like 4 of the last 5 chapters were pretty much the exact same thing

I usually get 1 or 2 wrong and leave 1 blank on the MC, but the FRQ grading is merciless so I am pretty worried that I may not get a 5.

For all of the practice exams we take at school I usually score a 4, but sometimes a 5. The biggest pain for me is the number 6 questions. I just get so lost, and completely lose my mind… I probably won’t even finish on time because of that question…
But for the most part, I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.
Good luck to all… Tuesday is so close!!!

For questions like these, how we do know which alternate Hypothesis to use. For this question the

Ho=200
but Ha can either be Ha/=200 or Ha<200

Thus, the p-values differ.

The process of producing pain-reliever tablets yields tablets with varying amounts of the active ingredient. It is claimed that the average amount of active ingredient per tablet is at least 200 mg. The consumer Watchdog Bureau tests a random sample of 70 tablets. The mean content of the active ingredient for this sample is 194.3 mg, while the standard deviation is 21 mg. What is the approximate p-value for the appropriate test?

A).012
B).024

In this case, H0 >= 200; because it is “at least.”

Thus, Ha<200

H0 would just be = not >=

Hey, how many digits do you show after the decimal point? I show 3 usually, but I looked at a Practice Exam by College Board and they showed 7:

hey guys. i’m self studying stat and i’m kinda worried. i’m not too great on null hypothesis and chi square. do you guys have any advice or links to tutorials? i know both these topics are favs for the fr and investigative task

I would say that H0 is >= 200.

So I would say A.

My teacher said that the Null is always the one with the “=” sign, but I don’t know if that is correct.

Ahh, exam in 12 hours! T_____T

Can somebody tell me how to get STDEV for proportions? #16 on the 2008 Audit exam.

Ten percent of all Dynamite Mints candies are orange and 45 percent of all Holiday Mints candies are orange. Two independent random samples, each of size 25, are selected–one from Dynamite candies and the other from Holiday Mints candies. The total number of orange candies int he two samples is observed. What are the expected total number of orange candies and the Stdev for the total number of orange candies, respectively, in the two samples?

The answer was 13.75 and 2.905. I have no idea how they got the last number though ><
