I know that CMU is a very math oriented school and its math and CS classes are very tough. How hard are its statistics classes? CMU has a renowned Statistics department. Are the classes brutal like CS? or more lenient. Thanks.
I’m not sure about the more advanced statistics classes, but the introductory statistics course (36-201), which is a general education requirement for a lot of students, and the second statistics course in the sequence (36-202) are both fairly easy courses. Definitely not as brutal as introductory computer science courses, at least for most students.
My daughter is a stats major. Rising senior. Classes keep getting harder. You wouldn’t expect a cake walk at CMU would you? Everything is difficult and requires lots of work. Some may find it easier than others, but nonetheless, it’s CMU for a reason. Expect to work your butt off.
