Statistics for premed Math 171 or PAM 210, which is better?

Hey! I'm in kind of a precarious position right now that might possibly affect people's schedules and what not, and I would really appreciate any advice.

Basically this is the situation: I originally enrolled in Math 112 (Calc 2) for spring 07 believing this was my only option in fulfilling my requirements for pre-med mathematics, however I found out I could instead opt for statistics, which seems more appropriate for me. After several unsuccessful attempts to get a spot in the "much-hyped" Policy Analysis ad Management version of statistics (PAM 210), I decided to get on a weight list for Math 171 which is basically the statistics class offered by the math department. Nevertheless, I was fidgeting with add drop a little while ago, and lo and behold I was able to get PAM 210 and I just recently received an email from the registrar that informed me I could enroll in Math 171 if I so choose. Now I'm curious as to which class I should pursue. Any thoughts?...ease, practicality, etc.

Thanks!

Math171 is the easiest A+ I've ever received. Plus, it's in the math dept. which means it is much more likely to be accepted as math credit by med schools. If you decide to take the PAM class, email some medical schools first to see if they'll accept that class for math credit.

Norcalguy, could you compare its difficulty to a variety of other premed courses (PHYS 101/102, Chem 207/208, etc)? It is subjective, I know, but it will help me plan my schedule for the very busy semester in which I plan to take it (I also don't know which classes were more difficult for you to get A+s in).

PAM 210 is accepted at all medical school.

as far as which is better, it really depends on the professor. I would say check rate my professor to know which ones to avoid at least.

I found it to be a very easy class, much easier than any of your premed prereq's. There are weekly problem sets that need to be turned in which is kind of annoying but I guess that's expected from a math class.
