Statistics instead of calc?

Is it a big deal if i take statistics instead of calc? (3.62 gpa you can imagine the schools i want to transfer to)

whats your major?

I will transfer as business or psychology(or both)

if it’s not required in the major at the new school, no.

in psychology, statistics is pretty important.

What about for business?

i’m not so sure about business, however statistics seems pretty useful in both majors. calc, at least to me, would be good “training” for quantitative skills.

Take both?

id say take both, a lot of schools require calculus for business—but some offer a ‘business calc’ class which is kind of dandy, probably more applicable to the real world, but yeah just check with where youre planning on transferring to

Business commonly requires both calculus and statistics (though a less rigorous “calculus for business majors” course is commonly allowed). If you want to emphasize finance or economics, it may require more than that. Check the schools you are considering transferring to.

A year of calculus and a course in calculus-based statistics is generally a good idea if you want to cover the possible math and statistics requirements for many schools’ undergraduate business programs (e.g. if you do not have a firm list of schools in mind that you can look up for their requirements).
