These numbers were alluded to in other discussions, but I thought it would be worthwhile to start a new one squarely focused on this topic. Here goes:
- 41,000 applications received this year
- Acceptance rate was 13.15%
- Average SAT is 1463 (ACT mid-range not yet published)
- 30% of the incoming class are students of color or international students,
- Yield rate improved by over 5% over last year, which according to my very rough calculations should put it somewhere around 31.5%. (1700/41,000*.1315) People with better information please chime in.
I agree with your stats. Here’s a list of stats that many people WISH were available:
-How many people will they take off of Waitlist?
-What % of people were accepted during REA? ED1? ED2? RD?
-What % of people get merit aid? How much merit aid?
-Of the 41,000 applicants, what % or number met the statistics “on paper” (i.e. met the mid range ACT and mid range GPA), but were rejected or waitlisted?
In August, I was going to post some notes on what we learned this year about admissions for the class of 2024. It is becoming incredibly competitive.
The yield rate for this year is 35%. It was posted on the Tulane University Facebook post on May 3rd.
So if I did the math right, the numbers looked something like this:
41,000 applicants
5,391 admitted (13.15%)
1,887 Enrolled (35%)
I found the yield numbers to be interesting, especially considering the fact that Dattagupta stressed in his blogpost that a 5 point increase was not expected and normally takes years to achieve. So I think once again their Freshman class is larger than they expected. So it might not be looking so good for wait list numbers.
