Does anyone know anything about these visiting faculty? What is the difference in the two courses? Is one easier than the other?

Has anyone had these two professors?

I don't know anything about these professors, but this site

Department of Statistics Homepage

provides more information. Bhatnager even has a link to the site used for his Fall '07 Stats 20 class with homework and exams.

I was stuck in the same boat as well. There's not a lot of information on these two professors because they are visiting. All I knew was that I should avoid Ibser, which I did. I ended up deciding to go with signing up for Bhatnagar phase 1 because it fit my schedule better and I was able to find a little info on them and not Gel. Though all I can say that I'm pretty sure these two are better than Ibser from what I hear about his strict curve (20%A, 30%B, etc.).

You can take a look at Gel's ratings at the University of Waterloo here.

Well that's great, Gel's already full.

I took Stats 21 (with Stark) and it was the easiest class I've ever taken - I think I had about a 110%, one of my only two official A+s at Berkeley. I don't know if that's the nature of the class (because business students are really slow) or just the professor, though.

Stark only does the summer online course now it seems like. Did you take it over the summer or years back? Yes, Gel is full and the other is filling up fast while everyone seems to be avoiding Ibser. The other Stat 21 professor has homework being worth 30% of the grade. That has to help.

It was 3-4 years ago.

To respond to people's comments about Stark teaching Stats 20 or 21, he hasn't done so for at least 2-3 years. He only teaches Stats 21 over the summer now online and I've heard that its a lot harder than his typical class during the Fall or Spring he taught in the past. Not an automatic A anymore when taking online with him.

Personally, this upcoming Spring I was fortunately able to get Bhatnagar and not get stuck with Ibser. This was before I found any information on Bhatnagar or Gel. But it seems, especially since Gel is full, that it would be best for anyone to sign up for Bhatnagar.

where can i find info about summer online stat course?
