im taking stats 21 with ibser (is he any good?)
im worried about the material and if i'll be able to keep up because i've never taken any statistics class before. is it do-able? impossible?

Ibser is far better than purves. It will be a tough class (the midterms/final are difficult), but the curve should help you out.

I took statistics AP in high school and I don’t think it matters if you have taken it or not. HS Stats was all graphing calculator work and you’re not allowed to use those in the class anyway. It is definitely doable, and if you are having trouble, there are study groups and drop-in tutoring in the SLC. good luck!!

I took AP stats, didn’t go to Ibser’s lectures at all past like the first midterm (really really boring lol), got an A. He assigns a lot of practice problems before the midterms, just work through those and understand them, you’ll be fine.

Ibser is good. His lectures are really clear. Your grade basically just gets determined by the curve.

I took Stat21 last semester with Purves. It was really hard - especially the midterm and finals.

Can’t say much about Ibser, but i heard he is much “better” than Purves.

it is by no means an easy class. The first midterm was decent and the average was 75. The final was extremely hard, and the average was 74. It is definitely one of those classes that aren’t hyped for the curves (unlike UGBA 10, which isn’t that bad) but can seriously screw you over if you aren’t careful

Took it last semester with Purves. I didn’t think the class/material was hard. Just the midterms/final were random as ****. I felt like I wasted time studying because seemingly nothing I reviewed was on.
