This doesnt add up. If your CR ends up being 690 (to make it add up) then we have the same SAT score lulz

Chances are good. Its a crapshoot man, but if you want to get in apply early. I dont care what other people claim applying early DOES help.

ohsnap, i meant 2210, i'm HOPING to get at least a 2250 lool my bad

thanks a lot =)!

Rule34, the only problem with early is:
1) Financial **** if you're too rich or just won't get any help from parents.
2) Test requirements
3) No guarantee because Early at Penn is made to help legacies, not other people.

I'm applying because I want to know the answer ASAP so I don't have to apply anywhere else, besides the point that I <3 Penn.

You will get the same finaid package whether ur accepted early or reg. They have a new finaid rule that is really good. If you get in and honsetly cant afford it they cant force you to go and you can opt out of your agreement.

zester, what do you mean by too rich? that's a DISadvantage? huh?

go 650s in CR!
but i'm not taking them again because someone in admissions told me not to worry about it.

^are you guys all applying ED too?

hahah did you ask the guy straight up if a 650 was good enough?

man i heard 2009 admissions is the most competitive year. pretty bummed. anyone know more about that?

Morewaffels, it's a financial aid disadvantage because if you earn over like 60k, you won't get a free ride and may have to pay. Some parents don't even help their kids pay, so you should get my point.

And our year is as competitive as last year.

ohh thanks, zester!

and I also heard that if penn doesnt take any kids one year, they typically take more the next. am i completely mislead?

i don't think so. my dad gave me a copy of the daily pennsylvanian (downside of loving and applying to penn -- he will know eeeeverything including who got drunk at what party. grr.) and it showed a chart of a steady trend of acceptance; it wasn't fluctuating from year to year, but there was a slight decrease in admission rate throughout the years i think, though i don't think the difference was too big.

but just be glad that you'll almost definitely have a 26% (if you do early, that is) chance of being admitted!

and yes, i did straight up ask if a 650 was a problem.

i want other schools to tell me that too..

dont worry about the CR so much especially if you are above 2200. I had a 670/680 on my SAT and got into Wharton. However, do take it a second time and try to get better. It would only help.

but nonetheless a 650 would look suspect if you are majoring in english or history or humanities of some sort.

ugh. those are exactly the types of majors I intended to pursue.. haha

is it better that i choose 'undecided'?

is it better that i choose 'undecided'?

I'm doing PPE and I got 630 630 630 my first time XD

Oh and btw, the admissions rate was actually higher last year because of the leaving admissions dean that caused a ruckus. Too bad it couldn't happen this year. I hope they haven't recovered and keep accepting more EDs, especially since Princeton and Harvard don't do early anymore. But that only means more people do ED to Penn, Columbia, Brown etc.

oh my goodness, yes. my tutor was telling me about how that's the reason penn is getting much more competitive for ED.
