Stats for 2008

This is what I have gathered so far for the class of 2008. I will keep updating it each week as people get accepted, rejected, etc.

Admitted (18)
Mean ACT - 32.4
Mean GPA - 3.93

Deferred (0)

Waitlisted (1)
Mean ACT - 30.0
Mean GPA - 3.90

Rejected (0)

This should give you guys a good feel...

Keep in mind though, that in-state admissions are a lot easier than oos.

thanks, interesting info. can you put the ACT/GPA ranges (as opposed to just the averages) of those accepted as well if you have that info? it might help some people more...also, just out of curiosity, where did you get the info? from your school, i presume?

also, i find it interesting that that one person got waitlisted instead of simply deferred. thought UM only waitlisted you after re-evaluating your deferral (if that makes any sense lol).

vc08,

When I get home tonight I will post that information (I'm at work now, and then I'm going to see the UM - MSU game). I got that information from these forums, my school, and another website where people posted if they've been accepted or not (mychances.net).

Check back tonight and I will have that stuff up.

sweet, thanks, and go BLUE!!! have fun at the game.

any other info on the waitlisted person? ecs, recs, quality of app

ya, i thought that was kinda weird too. i wonder if there was something suspicious on their app, eg a suspension, bad letter of rec, etc. i would have thought they would've only gotten deferred.

Okay, here is the info as requested:

Range of ACT scores: 25-35
Range of GPA: 3.7-4.0

About the waitlisted applicant, I have no information other than that it was a Caucasian male from MD. He was in the top 20% of his class, and he had a pretty tough course load. Other than that, I don't know. Maybe he messed up somewhere in his high school career.

sweet, thanks. one last thing: any idea how many students lie above/below that data from in-state and OOS? it's pretty interesting, actually. i was looking at U-Wisconsin's data earlier, and admissions really are a crapshoot lol.

oh yeah, and your sure those scores are all from this admissions cycle? cuz a lot of the data from that website is old.

vc08,

I'm only looking at the 2008/2012 admissions cycle. I will get back to you on the in-state/OOS thing. I just found some more stats and updated everything...

any ranges for the IS/OOS lol. sorry, hate to keep ya running around, i promise this is the last request i'll make :P

blackpen2008,

Speak for yourself man. If you weren't, you wouldn't be on here either.

ha, thanks josh. i know someone from OOS who got in with a 29 ACT and 3.94 GPA though, if you want to revise those. if not, i won't say anything lol.

Thanks! I will add that.

Football player?

noo, i'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, those are great stats.

Joshrk22:

Where are you getting these numbers from? I am impatiently waiting for reponse to my application completed on 10/16 (submitted 10/2).
