geez, ya'll are absolutely amazing. I don't feel so bad about being rejected now.

Recs: never got to see them... nerve-wrecking...
Essays: I liked em, but all that matters is if they liked em. I took a few risks and avoided the music/sports stories.

Going to try for Princeton, Harvard, UVA, Tufts, and a few others; already sent off a safety.

On a weird note, both of the kids from my school who applied to yale were deferred, both for harvard, one from MIT, one from chicago. No one was accepted, none rejected.

Oh, and to the people that said they'd at least know in 3.5 months, there's always the waitlist. Wouldn't that be great? Apply in Nov, deferred in Dec, waitlisted in April, rejected in August...

the fact that so many people with awesome stats AND MORE did not get in is disappointing and stressful to say the least for someone like me who will apply RD.

Anyway, for everyone rejected/deferred, with those stats, other colleges would probably beg you to go to their school.

haha kinetic.. you just stated exactly how i feel.
applying early is a bust. go RD!

the leaf: those are my TOP schools. I've never heard something so absurd as to you'll only get into one or two ivies. I know lots of people who get into multiple ivies. As to my safeties, I've already met one of the top UC Berkeley admissions officers through my program and says that if i apply, i will get in. (last 5 years, all like 10-15 applicatns from my music program that applied got in. and they have way worse stats than i do. my program has a deal with berkeley.) Not to mention id be totally fine with going to Berkeley. I'm applying to those schools because those are the only schools I would go to over Berkeley.

Oh yeah, I sent in my other apps after i got deferred... so unless they have some kind of weird superhuman powers, i doubt they would know i am applying to HYPM and Columbia.

rejected
