Hey guys I’m a senior and Pepperdine is my top school. I am just wondering what kind of stats people had that got the 30k academic merit scholarship!
My sophomore daughter got a $36k merit scholarship. She had a 35 ACT, 4.58 weighted GPA, President of her Senior class, work experience, and a bunch of extra curriculars. Pepperdine was her first choice. She LOVES the school!! Best of luck @santaclause1234!!
I got the Regent Scholarship; here’s my stats:
SAT: 1450
GPA (uw): 3.95
GPA (w): 4.44
Work 8-12 hours a week, volunteer 5+ hours a week
5 honor societies (secretary of French Honor Society)
Secretary of Speech and Debate
Leadership in two youth groups
I am a transfer student who received $73,040 in scholarships!
Community college in Texas
4.0 UW
Did not need to submit ACT/SAT as I had more than 30 credits
High school GPA not taken into account as I had more than 45 transferable credits
TONS of EC activities that it was clear I had a passion for as I had been participating in them for years not just months (nursing home, I play violin so volunteer/raising money using that, etc.)
Very involved in my community college (as much as one can be lol) I think I am apart of 9 or 10 organizations
Lots of church/leadership work
A great story/essays (broke my leg month before freshman year of college and therefore had to attend community at home)
Do they specifically tell you that you received the Regent’s scholarship or is it included in the grant.
I got a 1440 SAT and 3.96 UW GPA and 4.6 W GPA and have received about 36k as a grant. I’m not sure if I received the Regent’s scholarship since my stats are close to yours but like I said have received no email/notification.
I heard that this scholarship is based solely off of test scores/GPA.
Congratulations! It sounds like you got the Seaver Scholarship, but I would think they would notify you. I know my daughter received notice of the Regent’s Scholarship spelling out the award and the whole scholars program, plus an invitation to the Scholars Reception. @cathtakescollege
