For those of you who have already been accepted to UMass with scholarships or accepted to the Commonwealth Honors College, what were your grades and SAT scores? For people who are already part of the program, was it worth it?

I was below average and got a $6000 scholarship. 3.2 gpa and 1830 sat (1250 on a 1600 scale).

Completely worth it. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else.

From what I know, in state kids (like myself) only get merit / Commonwealth if they are in the top 10% of their class. I was 15% at a high rated school with great stats, yet got 0 merit and no Commonwealth.

My daughter is top 5%, GPA is 3.83/4 and ACT was 28. She missed the Honors College because they wanted a 29 ACT. Guess they are pretty rigid with their requirements!

Top 10%, 2180 sat.

12k merit and honors invitation

Accepted into Honors.
Top 3%, lots of AP classes, 2200 SAT (1520 on 1600 scale)
$5,000 Deans Scholarship.
In State. I haven’t heard of anybody else in State getting more.
(also have Adams scholarship-automatic for in state based on certain scores on MA standarized test scores.)

Accepted into Honors College a few weeks ago.
SAT was 2140 (660 CR 750 M 730 W)
Live in MA and got a $2000 scholarship.

In-state
Honors college and 2000 deans scholarship
2040 SAT, 1370 CR+M
3.8ish GPA
School doesn’t rank but around 10%

OOS
Honors college and $12k president scholarship
2340 SAT
4.0 GPA
School doesn’t rank but top 5%

Instate, just heard today that I got into the Commonwealth Honors College, along with a 2,000 dollar Dean’s scholarship! I was honestly pretty surprised because I am homeschooled, and have no class rank. My SAT was also lowish: 2030/2400, and 1340/1600. Very happy though, and I’ll have to look into the honors experience more!
