Stats for those accepted

Mariner, I’m not sure what you mean by core csu courses? Thanks

guitars, see the table on this admission page. [Freshman Selection Criteria - College of Agriculture -Admissions- Cal Poly](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions). The minimum CSU a-g semesters required is 30, but Cal Poly wants 46. The number of additional CSU core courses taken (1-16) is an important admission criteria, but no one is listing it. I’m curious what admitted students scored on this. My daughter had 14, for example.

How the hell???
I got rejected for mech engineering with higher stats than you :frowning:
GPA: 4.25 (CPSLO GPA 9-11)
SAT: 1330 CR+M
EC: 1-5 hr
15 AP/honors total from 9-12

blablaboi1: i think the reason i got in was because i did ED otherwise i wouldve been out. so i was probably scored against people with lower stats than you were

oh and my community service was 21+ hours

also, how many ap classes did u take and how high of math did you get into? dont count honors courses that may have inflated ur gpa because i took a lot of advance courses that would probably be honors at other schools, but they didnt count for the extra grade point

I wish people would note whether they applied for early decision or not. Just curious. My son applied for aerospace engineering regular decision, and got waitlisted. GPA 4.0 unweighted, SAT 1320/1890. SAT I Math 800 Chemistry 740. ACT composite 31 with Math 35! And so many of you had lesser stats and got in! I just don’t get it…And he did community service, had EC, etc…

Rousse54: im sorry i forgot to write that i was an ED kid. lol

btw cal poly doesnt take sat 2 scores

and cal poly goes by major so many kids get with lower scores, but ur son chose probably like one of the most competitive majors to get into. Engineering more people have a harder time getting into an engineering major than a major say in agriculture, it jsut all depends what u apply for. this is also the reason why cal poly doesnt allow people to change majors, because its not fair for some to apply for something like wine and vineculture and switch into a major like architecture. because it wouldnt be fair to the kids that did not get in
