My son did not get the guarenteed admit but it wasn’t because of his stats or grades, etc. It was because he had no medical experience.

Be sure to volunteer/work/observe in medical settings as much as you can.

got interviews for psu and ucsd. my numbers prolly got them.

i applied to the rutgers/njms one in newark out of high school. got the two interviews but was ultimately rejected

sats 2180 (730 math 700 reading 750 writing)

fairly high gpa
honors/ap classes
ap scores: 5 english lang, 3 history, 5 bio
i joined a lot of clubs but really ddidnt do anything special, nor did i really get any medical experience.
i think i got the two interviews probably because i felt i wrote a very good essay
i did very poorly in the interviews

they want people who KNOW they want to do medicine. if you get an interview, make sure you have a good reason why you want to be a doctor. experience the medical field before you apply, seriously

thanks sars284 (and all the others who’ve posted)

i am going to villanova/drexel’s bs/md program and i interviewed for kent state/NEOUCOM, union/albany med, rpi/albany med, villanova/drexel, and lehigh/drexel
my stats were pretty low (2120 SAT, 3.75 GPA uw, 33 ACT), but i had a lot of activities and medical experience like shadowing, medical research, and hospital volunteering. If you write good essays, and really show your interest in medicine, the stats wont matter as much
