Stats for Transfer

I'm going into my second year at a community college in their honor's program, looking to transfer to a good 4 year school. My list at the moment highlights Yale, Wellesley, Columbia, Barnard, University of Chicago, NYU, American, Brown, Vassar, Cornell, etc.

Depending on the next two semesters, my GPA is going to fall in the realm of 3.8 - 3.9. I have a lot of indepth extracurricular involvement. My academic advisor is a professor in my intended major and an alumni of two of the schools I want to go to, and she has already volunteered to write me specialized letters of rec for those schools.

My SAT is 2100 but I am retaking in January to improve my math score.

I'm nervous about my grades because CC is supposed to be EASY, but last semester I had two difficult honors courses and I ended up with a B and a B+. This was mostly due to personal issues, but the semester previous, I had a 4.0 so I think academics-wise I should be okay.

Are my stats okay for these schools? Should I include more safety schools?

You should include more safety schools. Transfer admission is a crap-shoot, no matter how well-qualified you are. Does your CC have any transfer agreements with 4-year schools nearby? If so, those might be good back-ups.

A few years ago there was a poster on here that was admitted to Yale from a CC. She had an incredible story to tell. While it does happen, it is quite uncommon (excluding Deep Springs). The same goes for the majority of the schools you listed. With your stats, you should elicit some serious consideration from American, NYU, and Vassar. Your SAT score is respectable and the same with your GPA. Regardless, to second nvilla, you need safety schools if you are serious about transferring. The transfer process is incredibly unpredictable.

Do you need financial aid? If so, that can reduce your chances at some schools.
