Stats for VP/Provost scholarship>

Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of student gets offered the VP/Provost scholarship?

Just looking for a rough idea of the GPA, test scores, etc. Thanks!

In order to get the VP scholarship you have to have at least a 30 on your ACT and probably at least a 3.75 GPA. I had a 4.2 GPA and a 31 on my ACT and I received the VP scholarship and the Presidential Finalist Scholarship. I would definitely recommend applying for the Presidential Scholarship because if you make the finals you get another two to five thousand dollars in scholarships, but don’t plan on actually getting the Presidential Scholarship because only 25 out of 550 people get it and if any of the people who receive the scholarships turn them down, they don’t give the money to the runner ups. Good luck!

Thanks, eliz. I assume that they will accept a weighted GPA to meet that requirement?

This website says it’s 3.1 though…I’m wondering too because I got 30 on my ACT, 3.95 weighted and 3.4 unweighted. I got Dean’s Scholarship though. I’m not saying your wrong cause you probably aren’t but I’m just double checking.

EDIT::: Never mind, that’s the GPA required to maintain the scholarship.

how much is the VP scholarship? My daughter was offered the deans scholarship worth 14,000 per year. Is the VP scholarship the highest automatic scholarship and Deans the 2nd highest?

What other scholarship options are there?

I was accepted today! I received the Dean’s scholarship for $17,000 per year!

Congrats! But on the website, it says that 16K is the maximum award? Interesting.

I got VP with 35/3.6/4.4

Oh wait. Nevermind Lucky, you got Jesuit, too.

Last year when I applied to SLU I got the VP scholarship as my initial scholarship before applying for and receiving the Presidential Scholarship. The VP Scholarship is initially 16,000 per year but they ended up increasing my scholarship and many others because they had extra money in the endowment last year (judging by the post that said they got 17,000, I’m assuming this is the case this year, as well.) So I ended up getting 17,000 per year. I had a 3.97 unweighted (my school never weighted GPAs) and a 32 on my ACT. With any score over a 30 on the ACT and I believe either a 3.85 or 3.9 unweighted GPA you can apply for the Presidential Scholarship. I highly recommend applying for the Pres. Scholarship even though it is competitive. There are 19 of us Pres. Scholars for the Class of '15 (they award a different number each year based on the applicant pool and the endowment, this year they awarded 19.) However, even if you don’t get the scholarship you can get the finalist award if you are a good candidate and had a good interview. And if someone declines to accept the Pres. Scholarship, they do award it to the next-best applicant, which has been the case for a couple of people I know. The Pres. Scholars interview weekends are in February (there are two weekends with about 275 interviewees each weekend) and they have a bunch of stuff that you do before you have your interviews on Saturday (you have two interviews).) You also get to stay with current Pres. Scholars in our dorms, so I hope to meet some of you soon! :)
