STATS OF 2013 ACCEPTED STUDENTS:may be of use for 2014 applicants

Okay, so back in October of 2008, my stat hunting days, I had trouble finding info such as gpa's sat's and ec's of all the previous applicants. So to make it easier on next year's students, I'll occasionally update this thread with all the accepted students' stats XD. accepted students, whose scores i have not recorded on this thread should post so i can add them.

wait a second… it seems like kids actually can get in with under a 3.8 3.9 gpa… this is really good for me.

So columbia really does value non-numerical things higher. Can anyone corroborate that?

Wrong forum section?

Not a representative sample. Wait for the official statistics…

why dont you just check collegeboard instead of hunting down every single stat you can find?

because college board doesn’t give an accurate idea of what and what you cannot get into RPI with? It’s averaged so you can’t really tell where the boundaries are. the high scores and the low scores cancel eachother out. nawmsayin? when i applied, i looked at college board and i got scared due to the high numbers. this is why i collect people’s stats individually, so later on people can be like, “hey, that guy got in with this this and this, i have this this and this as well! i have a good chance” rather than, “here is the average score, we’re not going to let you know what the lowest scores were and what the highest scores were.” besides, in a skewed sample, an average is such a bad indicator of well… the center i guess. does collegeboard provide median? no sir. i guess i just dont want other people to be as confused as i was when i applied. hahaha
