A question for those of you who have been accepted: What does the paper acceptance look like? Today my D received a letter inviting her to submit an essay for consideration for the Honor's College. But she hasn't received any formal letter of acceptance. Is the invitation to apply for the Honor's College the acceptance letter?

No - that's not an acceptance - but it's certainly a good sign that she's been accepted. The acceptance letter is an 8-1/2 x 11 "fat envelope." Are you using Wolverine Access to check your application status electronically?

My D was accepted on Wolverine Access on 11/23. She hasn't received her fat envelope yet.

I got a letter about honors a few weeks before I even submitted my app, so take that for what it's worth. (Although all of my materials were probably in the office by that time)

i called the admissions counselor assigned to me at UMich yesterday (i have her number because there was a technical misunderstanding yatta yatta..) and she told me i can expect a decision in 10 weeks. 10 friggin weeks! um no!?

i'm getting really anxious here...mine was complete on about 10/25 and i havent gotten a decision yet (and yes, i do check WA almost religiously). My friend who has similar stats to me - 34 ACT, 3.9 GPA, in-state, from same competitive school - and whose was complete around the same time as mine got accepted about a week and a half ago...while i hear nothing. Only thing i can think of is that she's asian and i'm not :-o.

Asians aren't considered URMs by Michigan, so I doubt that's why your friend heard earlier than you. It is probably totally random. And given your stats, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

D accepted today:

OOS
4.0 uw (Michigan recalculated)
35 ACT

application complete 11/11
accepted 12/09

When they make a decision, and they send you the email, is the email sent first thing in the morning like at 7AM when WA begins running? Or can it be any time during the day?

lol yeah i was mostly joking about that...

My D found it herself on WA long before she got the e-mail.

When the decision does come up on WA, how do you get to it?

I have a question. It lists that it got my SAT I scores and everything in the "Academic Tests" area. However, why does it say "Not Received" next to "Tests"? It seems kind of odd; what tests do they mean?
