^ lol what?

i dont get it. do you guys think this is a joke thread? .

Who said it was a joke thread? I posted my stats… you have to realize that stats aren’t everything… ECs, fit, essays, recommendations play a huge role. If you look at the people waitlisted/rejected this year at Emory, they were the ones that had the numbers but did not show an interest in Emory or had weak essays, ECs etc.

2170 superscored, 3.4 uw, 3.7 weighted
790 - korean
780 - math
670 - chemistry

2320 and 3.75 uw
700 bio, 730 math l2, 750 lit

then can u guys post your EC’s as well?
ORR… could you chance me?

i have a 3.4GPA (unweighted) ; i’m a junior right now

hopeful president of green team
JV softball (in 10th grade)
Vice president of miniature club (this clay making thing)
treasurer of HCMC (community service club)
member of romania club (community service club)

ACT’s i got a 29
I’m doing the full IB diploma

and… if this helps, i’m literally dying to go to emory.

Perhaps this thread will help? This is RD from this year.

I found this ED thread from 2006:

I’m sure if you do a search on google (or on CC), you’ll find similar threads like these. Good luck!

29 or 30 ACT, 4.5/3.8 GPA, around 14 AP’s by the time I graduate numerous board positions, one regional board position, started my own program for underprivileged ESOL kids, amazing essays, crappy recs.

Honestly, it’s about what YOU bring to Emory. You aren’t just a number. Thats the most important lesson I’ve learned throughout the whole process. If it were, this girl with a 35 ACT, 4.6 GPA wouldn’t have gotten rejected at my school and I definitely would not have been accepted.

GPA weighted 4.08

SAT: 1410 (800 math, 610 CR (as you can tell I’m a math/science girl NOT an English girl))
subject tests:
math level 1: 740
chemistry: 680

APs:
Chemistry
US History
World History
BC Calc
Literature
Language and Comp
Art History (such a *****!!)
Studio Art: drawing portfolio

Well I got accepted to Emory last year with 1810 SAT and 85% GPA (and I’m an Asian)

I took only one AP course and had something between 650-720 on my two SAT II exams. And I think I wasn’t even in the top 10% percent of the graduating class.

But then again, I had this crazy list of amazing extracurriculars and life accomplishments.

So it’s not really about quantitative stats; it’s about who you are. Just relax and focus on your final year at high school; its something you will always miss :)

Asian Male

GPA 3.76UW/4.46W (Not in top 10% though)

SAT: 2280 (800 math, 790 CR, 690 writing)

subject tests:

APs:

All 5’s

AP’s that I’m Currently Taking: English Literature, Physics C (both), Statistics, Environmental Science

Founder of a Limited Liability Company, active participant in volunteer activities, including being the National Convention Planner for a non-profit.

Theodred, what were some of your extracurriculars? and… life achievements??
