Hey everyone!

I'm really stressed over how good my chances are at NYU Stern ED, and was wondering if people accepted within the past couple of years could post things like SATs, SAT IIs, GPA, class rank, APs, leadership roles, etc.

Thanks!

That’s not me, but I figured I’d give this a bump cause I’d like to know also but what are your stats? (if you don’t mind me asking)

I would love to know the stats too, so I’ll bump this thread as well.

I’m not sure what the exact stats are for ED, but I know a few things about Stern. I can’t remember if this is for Stern or not (I believe it is), but they mostly accept those with a 3.8+ GPA. You’ll also need higher test scores (for example, at least a 2200 SAT I score). Most importantly, they look mainly for applicants with business-related ECs. The acceptance rate for Stern is also very low, 7% I think, but for ED it might be more around 10%.

If you don’t get in ED you could apply again RD but to a different school (like CAS). You can then try and transfer to Stern later on.

@thawowtso mind posting your stats as well?

SAT: 2080 (Math-800, CR-630, W-650) < I’m frustrated I can’t bring CR and W up for some reason
SATII: Math Level II-800, Chemistry-750
GPA: Weighted-103 (not sure of my unweighted), Class Rank-3 or 4 (The two of us keep alternating) out of 360
AP Classes: Stat-4, US Hist-only a 3, Micro-4, Chem-4, Lang-5, European Hist and Senior year I’m taking Macro, Physics, Calc
–I’m also taking either one or two classes at Lehigh University this year.
All my other classes have been honors.
I have also taken two summer classes at Cedar Crest College.

I play Varsity Tennis (3 years) and am Captain this year (also most likely will be scholar athlete), Varsity Track and Field (2 years, maybe also scholar athlete), First chair in our orchestra (Treasurer soph year, VP junior, and hopefully Pres this year), Play in our regional orchestra (Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley), National Honor Society (Treasurer this year), Volunteer at Chinese school, Teacher of Math count at Northampton Community College, Science Olympiad, Scholastic Scrimmage, Blue Eagle Ambassador (Kind of like student council), Principal Student Advisory Board…there might be more I can’t think of right now…

I have about 250 volunteer hours, including 80 overseas in Taiwan (at a program called AID Summer - aidsummer.net).

Uhm…that’s about it for now…can’t think of what else to mention haha

I’d try and cram in some buisness-related EC’s before you apply. Also, you might want to try out the ACT. Some people tend to do better on one than the other.

anyone else have opinions?

Your stats are average for an average accepted NYU student, however its a lot harder to get into stern than their other colleges. Since it is one of the top business schools, you need to make it seem like they’re your first choice school and not Wharton or some other prestigious business school.

The acceptance rate for Stern is nowhere close to 7%, it’s in the 20-25% range with fluctuations each year.

The average GPA across NYU is 3.7, so at least a 3.7 would be ideal. SATs ought be 2100+

@icyinfernozz I am applying ED1 to NYU Stern.
