Stats of those accepted into Schreyer Honors?

Can those of you who were accepted, or declined admission into Schreyer please post your stats (and also if you did or did not get in).

SHC brochure states the following stats info:
The ranges below represent the middle 50 percent of students: High school GPA (4.33 scale): 3.98–4.33
SAT (2400 scale; includes required writing component): 1980–2170

The honors college does not consider SAT scores

Accepted: 4.0GPA

I was accepted with an unweighted gpa of 4.0 and a weighted gpa of 4.67

S was accepted with a 97.4/100 UW GPA

DS was accepted

GPA 3.92

DS was not accepted. 4.0 unweighted GPA, 8 AP’s completed with 5 5’s, 2 4’s, and a 3. 1460 out of 1600 SAT (I know they do not count SATs). Eagle Scout, Senior Patrol Leader, Order of the Arrow, 400+ volunteer hours, football, many other EC’s. Good recommendations and what we thought were well crafted essays. He spent weeks on them and he is a fairly good writer (5 on his AP Eng. Lang AP). A little disappointing, but oh well!

Where does it say that GPA and SAT’s aren’t considered? See the link below for the brochure that explains the program; page 6 breaks down the middle 50% of students for their SAT and GPA’s which is clearly giving a benchmark of the stats that accepted students have achieved. From this, you can certainly deduct if your SAT and GPA are in the range of previously accepted students or not.

GPAs are considered. SATs, as stated by Dean Brady numerous times in his blog etc are not considered, apparently they are whited out. They provide the median range of SATs for comparison.

I was accepted with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.74 out of 4 (all honors courses, no AP…school makes everyone do honors courses…AP is a “do-yourself” thing). Unranked.

SAT
M: 760
V: 700
W: 670

Very heavy extracurriculars with leadership positions (and by that I mean like lots of hours (1-2 per day) spent in school…yearbook, chess, band, etc…)

(Asian… applied after the priority date… also an international student that lives in PA.)

accepted

gpa uw 3.97
ap courses taken: 11 total
sats: 760 cr, 710 math, 700 writing 2160 total

accepted

GPA - uw 4.0
Ap courses - 1 (only one that school offers)
SAT - 770 M, 750 CR, 710 Writing - 2230 Total
Legacy in Schreyer’s from both sisters and brother-in-law

will not be attending

accepted

GPA- uw 3.7 w 4.5
IB Diploma Candidate (every class is IB)
SAT- 660 M, 630 CR, 730 W = 2020 Total

I just decided that I will be attending today. Advice for anyone applying, essays are a HUGE part of the decision. As you can see, my scores were not as high as others and towards the lower part of the range but they don’t look at SAT. Anyway, I went to an accepted students meeting and was discussing one of my essays with another student when one of the admissions directors overheard me and said she remembered my essay!!! The fact that she remembered certainly says something about what Schreyer looks for…everyone has the stats. Instead they are looking for excellent essays, extracurriculars, and recommendations.

Does anyone know if there is room in the honors dorms for all the incoming students who want it? Or is room availability limited?

All first-year scholars are supposed to be guaranteed honors housing if they request it on their housing contract. Non-scholars can request it, but it is not guaranteed for them.

^^ That’s great. Thanks. DS was getting worried and since I don’t know when the housing information is announced - I didn’t have an answer for him.
