ACCEPTED!!! I'll post my stats later....

People said the envelope was red but it was white with a yellow streak, so I worried, even though it was a big package. The acceptance FOLDER is red though :)

hey srabiee
did you get accepted today??
and did you status change early this morning?

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: I re-used an UC essay but added more stuff and super-edited it. It was awesome. One of the best essays Ive ever written. The short answer was awesome, too. I worked REALLY hard on them.
[] Teacher Recs: Good; one was really sincere and heartfelt, other one was okay (I
m guessing on these)
[li] Counselor Rec: Didn
t have any. I hate my counselors. D:[/li][] Hook (if any): Leadership? Marching band? :( Don
t have any, really. =/
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]

[/ul]Other Factors?: My grandmother died while I was working on my application, but I did not mention it in my essays/short answers, etc. I put it in the additional comments section... her passing made it a lot harder for me to focus on my application. :( She was in China and I was not by her side, so it felt even worse for me. I
m sure she
s proud of me now, though :)

General Comments, status update dates:
I`ve never worked so hard on any application. I put my soul into this application and I think they felt that.
Today has been one of the happiest days of my life.
Good luck to all of those who are still waiting!!!

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: 2130
[] SAT IIs: 730, 660
[] GPA: 4.0w
[] Other stats: 10 AP's total; grades requested on Mid-Year's showed A's in these AP's: Bio, English Lit., US Govt., and Art History, and 1 B in Calc AB

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: CA
[] School Type: Competitive public
[] Ethnicity: Filipino
[li] Gender: Male[/li][/ul]
General Comments: I wasn't fully expecting an acceptance, yet I wasn't braced for rejection. I've done a lot of community service and I really thought my upward trend would help (started off horribly with 2.8-3.5 numbers, eventually stopped being lazy and got consistent 4.6-4.8), guess not.

I'm not as bitter as others, particularly because my GPA was on the lower end. I can't help but feel extremely disappointed, though. I'll probably end up transferring in a year. Well, I'm done with CC for a while, it has been a fun couple of months analyzing status changes and uplifting others with you guys!

Geez SE440, those are pretty good stats, and sobering that you were rejected. Not looking good for my son with lower GPA (3.5 UW, with also positive trend), but higher SAT's (2240).

You'd think that low Freshman GPA would be discounted, but noooooo....

Thanks for posting this, being forewarned helps cushion whats coming down tomorrow.

I got accepted into UC San Diego, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. I am leaning towards UCLA right now but Cal might give me scholarships and seem to be really, really interested in me (calling me, inviting me to apply to Cal scholarships, etc.) If I do choose UCLA: You can't spell SUCK without USC! <3
