Hey guys I was wondering if usc is a match for me. And i wanna go by number stats only. Because i feel this is the weakest part of my app and my ec's are very good.

SATS: 1900 (700M 620W 580CR)
Gpa: 4.27, 7 AP classes, A's in all.
Rank:5/715

Any comments would be helpful.

Is English your first language? I think, statistically you are a little weak on the SAT to call it a match, but I would say it is definitely a slight reach. Especially if your ECs and other credentials are outstanding you have a great chance to get in. USC admits people with lower SATs so it is not an impossibility by any means for someone of your caliber to get in.

Your GPA is over the average GPA of a USC admit
Your SAT is lower than the average USC admit.

I had a lower SAT but a higher GPA and I got in. I think you definitely have a good chance is what I am saying. It is match for you in some respects but not in others. Just apply.

Don't worry about your SAT. I got in with a 570V 760M (under the old test). You could try taking it again, but I think you will be fine with this score.

Your GPA definitely is good. Nothing more to say on that.

Thanks guys.

I have a another question? Does USC seem to focus on more of the ECs, or do they just go off of GPA and SAT score?

I say this because I have fairly good ECs...

Im giving a speech in Washington DC about my research

My ownly thing that is lacking is my sats. =/

Does USC look past the GPA and SATs?

And yes english is my first language. Born and raised in sunny cali.

Sure they may. Like any college, they take a number of factors into account when determining your eligibility.

However, look at the average USC undergrad stats now. SAT - approx 1400 on the old test, GPA 4.0 (weighted) (Sorry I don't know how to relate that to the new test). Undoubtedly, if you can pull above the averages, you got a much higher shot of getting in. Good luck. USC dominates.
