Stats Profiles - Suggestions for Improvement

i can’t seem to get my stats profile to reflect that i am in the class of 2012 rather than 2011. i change it and push save, and it says “stats profile successfully saved”, but then when i look at it, it either says 2011 or “7600”. is anyone else having this problem?

i am having the exact same problem. my profile shows 7600, and i can’t change my class year to 2012; it stays at '11.

What classes does the GPA include? Just the major academic core classes or sports, fine arts, yearbook, and other electives?

I wonder whether or not you’ve considered adding a Graduate or Transfer applicant stats function as well. Like the majority of the site, things seem to be imbalanced to suit the needs of undergrads…but as long-term members of the site change, their needs do too. Accomodate!

Collegedata.com is also an excellent resource that I utilized during my college search process and, perhaps, you could refer the students to that website. It has tons of student entering in their SAT scores and such and it can analyze your chances based on the test scores on your chances of getting in in context of the other students’ scores…

Yeah there should be a stats profile for transfers

Thanks…I have passed these suggestions along. I know some of these have been considered in the past.

Thanks again!

What exactly is “College Summer programs”?

Hello TrumpetDad…many colleges have summer sessions, some of which are geared specifically toward high school juniors and seniors, such as Stanford’s 8-week “High School Summer College” session.

So, if your son or daughter has attended any such programs they would briefly describe them in the “College Summer Programs” text field on the stat profile.

OK, thanks. Like the high school study abroad trip I sent my daughter on done by Hillsdale College.

Can someone please give me some hints with the SSAT

Hello lindha,

You’ll want to try posting a new thread over at our Test Prep forum here:

<a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/&lt;/a&gt;

Just scroll past the sub-forum area on that page and find the “New Thread” button to begin a new discussion.

Thanks!

okii i will do it

How about adding a sort bar in the chart w/ the sat scores and status so organize everyone? i know you can do it from search, but it might be useful to also be able to do that from the results chart. and what if you don’t have sat scores? could act scores also be added to the results from search?

Here’s a quote from my latest thread in the CC Cafe:

I really didn’t understand what’s supposed to happen after you fill out the student information. Please include a little more explanation about how this works.

And, one specific - when you say “Location” what are you looking for: city, state, both?

Thanks!

When searching, I would like NOT to have to choose a particular class year. I just want to know what kind of stats people had who were accepted into a particular university, regardless of class year (Besides, is that entering or graduating class year?).

Also, I’m a transfer student, and there is no field for college GPA/information or indication of transfer status.

“Location” shouldn’t be so open-ended… Maybe other people from my state put in their city or something… or the abbreviation? I don’t know… I think “State” is specific enough (with a drop-down box).

Also, based on the options, I was hoping to search for people who matched my entered stats and see what universities they were applying to. But it turned out that I had to go to each individual profile to do that (TIME-CONSUMING). Maybe instead of listing the SAT scores (What’s the point of that, anyway?), it should list the top 3 school choices?

Listing the SAT scores is only useful, IMO, when you search for students accepted/rejected by particular universities. As of now, the only thing I can imagine is that people might want to know what SAT scores other students got from similar high schools?

"Yeah there should be a stats profile for transfers "

Cannot be stated enough.

you should allow the list at each school to be rearranged by things other than alphabetical, like who was accepted, rejected etc.

Let people post AP Scores…Just like they can post SAT II’s…also…how do I start a thread?
