stats that'll get you in

Troy Athens is Athens. Troy is Troy. Big difference (view of Troy senior.)

my sister went to troy athens and then to UM......but we moved after her senior year

ok so i'm african american...if that helps at all

3.2 UM GPA

Hardest Courseload

ACT:30

if that helps at all...are you kidding? you can practically assume you are admitted...

"ok so i'm african american...if that helps at all

3.2 UM GPA

Hardest Courseload

ACT:30"

SAFETY!!!

Troy is the top feeder. Then West Bloomfield.

I would not be so quick to assume that goodcolleges is "in". Yes, his chances are grantly enhanced because he is African American. A 3.2 unweighed GPA along with a 30 ACT score 5 or 6 years ago, when the mean unweighed GPA was 3.7, the mean ACT was 27, when 70% graduated in the top 10% of their class and the acceptance rate hovered around 55% would probably have guaranteed an URM a spot.

But times are changing. This year's freshmen crop had an average unweighed GPA of 3.85, a mean ACT score of 29, 90% of them graduated in the top 10% of their class and the acceptance rate was just slightly over 45%. If this is a trend rather than a one-off, those numbers are bound to improve further this coming year.

For now, I'd say that Michigan is a match for goodcolleges.

so my 31 ACT and 4.19 w gpa should be a match?

What's your unweighed GPA? If it is over 3.8, you are a safe match. If it is in he 3.6-3.8 range, Michigan is a match and if it is below 3.5, Michigan is a reach.

The top feeders are probably Huron and Pioneer, the local AA schools. Then schools like Troy, WB, and a whole bunch of others.

^ does it help if you go to one of these schools?

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that they have a small bonus thing built in for certain high schools, with Pioneer being on the top. It kinda makes sense because they know that these are good schools which will prepare their students enough to succeed at U of M.

Back when they used the points system they gave bonus points to students from certain high schools as you can see here:
