Stats vs Calc vs Precalc Junior year??

I go to a school for academically talented students where all the classes are honors/ap, up till sophomore year everyone takes the same math course (Geometry--> Algebra II w/ Trig) but then they can choose to either take calculus, pre calculus or statistics. The thing for calculus is that you need to pass a proficiency exam and also have been recommended by previous math teachers. I passed the test, but unfortunately I was an idiot during freshman year andd did not get approval from teachers. Will it look awful if I take both stats and pre calc instead of calculus during my junior year? I definitely will be taking calculus during my senior year :/

i dont plan to go into engineering or a math field. cornell is my dream school though, and i know they’re extremely selective :(

Most people take calc senior year. Take Stat and Precalc junior year and take AP Calc AB or BC Senior year. If you take Calc junior year, what math are you going to take senior year??? Calc was always meant for advanced high school SENIORS, and colleges know that.
