dunno 'bout the english program or the med school questions, but the Writing Seminars program is #2 in the country, I've heard.

I don't have the document in front of me but it's over 90% of all who apply to law school or med school get in. I think it was actually as high as 98% of students who apply to law school get in and around 93% for med school (could be switched).

is there any way i can see how many people went to which schools, etc.?

I saw a .pdf with all that information a while ago. I can't find it now, but I remember it was pretty respectable. There weren't many going to the top law schools, but I think that's more because not many go to law school in general. If you look at percentages, probably just as many %-wise who apply get into the top schools as do at comparable institutions, if not moreso.

This is Harvard's stats on how many students were admitted to their law school from each college in one year. On this list, you can see JHU didn't do great compared to schools like Cornell (40 admitted), since only 4 got in. But you have to keep in mind that less students apply to law school in general from JHU, and the school is a very small one, so the numbers play a role as well. The important thing to come away with is that it is possible to go to any law school from JHU. If you do well, you can go anywhere.

definitely true :) thanks, that's really helpful. is there something like that available for med?

No, but don't worry about that. Over 90% get into some med school (one of the highest numbers of any college). JHU is known as very strong pre-med.

It is a ranking of best pre-law colleges based on the % who are attending Yale law school. Considering not as many, percentage-wise, apply to law school from JHU as from places like Yale, Stanford, etc., I think it's probably even better than the very respectable #19 it is ranked in this list.
