Is Stats 2 (Intro to statistics) an easy class?

Mmmmm... it's not going to be anything like AP Stats (so no counting out M&Ms), and one of my friends got his first "C" ever in stats (though he's majoring in poli sci and not math or engineering or anything), so be prepared to take a course that's easier than calc but still rigorous and time consuming.

Is Stats 20 a lot harder than Stats 2?

yes stats 20 is harder thatn statss 2... stats 2 is know as the easiest math class at Cal.

"Mmmmm... it's not going to be anything like AP Stats (so no counting out M&Ms)"

LOL
I remember doing that. AP Stats was a joke.

Haha yeah i was hoping I would be counting M&Ms and goldfishes.

Which class is easier, Stats 2 or Math 16A?

Most likely Stats, but don't forget to account that not all math classes are equal. One year, a really really good professor will teach it and another year, you might have a professor that's unapproachable and over-complicates the class (which is what happened to my friend)... so just because it's the "easiest math class at cal" doesn't mean you'll be getting a guarenteed A.

haha kay thank you!

easiest math class at cal? what about math 32.. isnt that precalc? i would think thats the easiest...

man statistics is so easy it shouldn't even be considered math. It takes probabilities and makes logical assumptions with them. In other words, it's all guesswork. In Other-other words, it's b/s.

Edit: However I have no doubt Berkeley professors will be able to find some sick and twisted way to make stats hard.

hahaha i hope not

I need to take Stats because I failed to fulfill the Quantitative Reasoning portion requirement. Do I still need to take a placement exam for that? I'm going to CalSo this monday and have already decided to take stats 2 as a freshman, only i have to confirm it.but yeah...no placement right?

i just need to get it out of the way.
