<p>did any of you get this message at the end of December? I don’t understand the message and why I still haven’t heard :</p>
<p>Thank you for your application to Penn State. Because you successfully met the recommended filing date of November 30, your application is among the first group being evaluated for admission to Penn State.</p>
<p>Our office will be closed from December 24, 2007 through January 1, 2008. Upon reopening on January 2, we will continue the evaluation of applications.</p>
<p>After January 2, we invite you to check the status of your application online through your MyPennState account. You can login to MyPennState at our Web site: admissions.psu.edu. Using the online status check, you will know when a decision has been made. You will be notified of our decision by mail. Please note that we are unable to give admission decisions over the phone.</p>
<p>The first two weeks of January will be an extremely busy time for our counselors, as we continue to evaluate applications. Our highest priority at that time will be the review of your application to ensure that you receive a final decision by January 31. As such, admissions counselors will be available on a limited basis to take calls. Beginning January 14, a full complement of counselors will once again be available to answer your questions and provide assistance.</p>

<p>slugger/collegebound got that message too and just heard yesterday! you’ll hear ANY day</p>
<p>My S did NOT get that message even though all of his things were in by the end of September!! I called after the new year and the admissions person that I spoke to confirmed that all of his materials were in and that we would be definitely be hearing by the end of the month (rec, park and tourism major). But as I posted above she also said that it may be postmarked as late as the 31st, not in your mailbox by then. S knows 1 person accepted, 1 rejected this week. I know the rejection was school of architecture and not sure about the accepted one. This has been a very long wait…thank goodness he has some good acceptances in hand…Mich State, U Mass and U Tenn, but PSU is and always has been his #1 (D just graduated from there in May). Good luck to all…should be the last week of waiting…

<p>S’s status changed as of 1/25… decision was made. Collegebound…your status changed as of the 23rd, you saw it on the 25th and got it on the 25th? Where do you live? We are in Southern NJ…wondering how long it will take to get here. Gulp…</p>
<p>Yeah I checked the 23rd, 24th and it didnt say anything. I checked at like 730 am on 1/25, and it said as of 1/23 we made a decision. I got the decision in the mail on 1/25.</p>
<p>my question though was…what state do you live in? are you near State College or far…just trying to figure out how long it will take to get here. Wierd that his status changed on a Sunday.</p>
<p>I actually live in New York, about 4 hours away from PSU. I really think he’ll get it tomorrow.</p>
