Status just changed

My daughter, who applied way, way back in Sept., just got notification that her status changed as of yesterday and that she'd be hearing in two weeks. Nothing other than that on the website. Does this offer any hints about what the decision might be.

No idea, NJMom, sorry. Good luck!

i'm the same here...hopefully we'll hear soon by mail :p

I got the exact same thing on my Penn State account. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but its probably either Wait List or Rejection. If we got accepted, they would probably tell us that instead of telling "we have reached a decision..." and telling us in two weeks is a long time. (granted that they have a large application pool.) But, good luck anyways.

the website doesn't give any hint of acceptance or rejection

you guys were probably waitlisted.

Yeah, that or REJECTED, but definately not accepted. If we got accepted, they would not wait for TWO WEEKS to tell us we got accepted. By giving us the details so late, they are probably reducing our chance of enrollment. They don't want a low enrollment and the only reason I can think of that they would delay is they don't care if you enroll or not. This could only mean that they can already have enough people with their refreshman class. But, we should still wish for the best though.

actually they dont tell you if you're accepted online or not; only through mail. Though I certainly dont want to get your hopes up either since it is this late in the process.

Do they tell you in TWO WEEKS if you get accepted? I would expect them to send it in a shorter interval if it was acceptance...

It is normally a shorter interval. I received my letter 3 days after my status change (I live just outside of Philadelphia). I can't imagine it would take two whole weeks unless you live in Hawaii or Alaska.

BTW All people get the same message that "A decision has been made" whether it's a rejection, acceptance, or waitlist notification.

Wait, so it says that it will take TWO WEEKS on everyone's status, but people usually get it within two weeks? I will be really amazed if I get in this late.

As of 3/5/2007, we have reached a decision regarding your application. You will receive this decision in the mail in approximately two weeks.

Yeah, I got that message too, but do the people who actually got accepted into UP get that message. I think they got something like email saying thanking them for their admission.

My daughter received that same message ("A decision has been made...") when she was accepted to UP, with no accompanying email. Good luck to those of you waiting on the decisions.

Thank you. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I GOT IN!!! ok, now I have a question...how can I check any financial aid award? is it through the internet or by mail?

Congrats, don't know! Good luck!!

i checked in the website...they tell you by mail for first year students

I got that message, and I got an acceptance letter in the mail about 4-5 days later. Good luck

They send you it in the mail around mid-March. I read this somewhere on their website a few days ago.
