Status of Creative Producing BFA program???

Anyone seen any kind of announcement?

Anyone admitted to it?

Here's some info I got off of the "Chappenings" Blog:

"We have been anxiously awaiting final approval on a new proposed major for Dodge College of Film and Media Arts: BFA in Creative Producing. As an update for any of those who may be interested in applying for creative producing or who have already indicated creative producing as their first choice on the department application, it was recently approved by the faculty senate (one of the larger and last steps to final approval) and will shortly be looked at by the Board of Trustees. We should know for certain in early Spring (hopefully beginning of February), but we feel very confident that this will get approved.

We have flagged any application that checked the creative producing box, but have continued to review the application for the major you indicated in case creative producing does not get approved. No further information is needed at this time. For now, the early action creative producing timeline for decisions is likely to mirror that of film production with decisions beginning to go out on February 15th."

thanks -- I missed it because it was in the Comments!

The program in Creative Producing got approved. I received an e-mail about it today.

Does anyone know how many slots are available in the new BFA in Creative Producing?
My S applied for the Film Studies major with the option of BFA CA if it opened up.
Not sure what this means in terms of "odds of acceptance."

I just got into Creative Producing!

Woo!

Congratulations on acceptance to the BFA Creative Producing!
Can I ask when you got your application in? Was it RD?
Also, did your webadvisor status change to indicate Creative Producing + acceptance?
We've been checking webadvisor daily and still lists Film Studies as major, even though email was sent to admissions regarding change to Creative Producing.
Thanks.

Thanks!

I got my application in by the Early Acceptance deadline. I think it was sometime around Nov. 5th.

My webadvisor status changed on 2/27 (although I didn't check until tonight) from Film Production to Creative Producing and instead of pending it said admission approved.

Hope that helps!

Best of luck to you!!

Thanks for the quick reply.
Your acceptance came in pretty late considering you were EA.

We RD applicants will have to wait a long time!

Congratulations, again!
[by the way, do you know how many Creative Producing spots are planned for the fall?]

With a BFA in creative producing, what can you get as a job after you graduate? I'm looking into it, and can;t decide between that and tv production. I love TV production, but like the buisness side too
